As an aggieTEACH student your degree plan will be both similar to and different than that of other students also majoring in math or science. Each degree plan has been carefully organized to enable aggieTEACH students to obtain their Bachelor's degree while also using electives and coordinated substitutions to incorporate requirements for a degree in your major as well as teacher certification.
The degree plans that have been developed for the aggieTEACH Program incorporate the following things:
- Core Curriculum
- Courses in your major (i.e. biology, chemistry, math or physics)
- Teacher Certification Courses
By offering students the option to obtain teacher certification with no additional hours added to their degree program, the aggieTEACH Program enables students to explore a future in teaching, even if it is secondary to the pursuit of professional or graduate school.
| "This program has offered many opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. For one, I am able to graduate on time with only taking 13 or 14 hrs a semester with a biology degree and teachers certification. If I was not in the aggieTEACH program I would be here at least another semester, if not a year.”
